The Orbea Urrun is an electric mountain bike built for Canadians who want one e-bike for weekend trails and weekday errands. Every Urrun shares the same core: a hydroformed alloy hardtail frame with 29" wheels and a 120 mm fork, Orbea's Shimano EP6 RS Gen 2 MC mid-drive motor with up to 85 Nm of torque, an Orbea battery integrated into the downtube, a dropper-ready seat tube and pedal assist up to 32 km/h. At about 19 kg depending on frame size, it's one of the lighter full-power hardtail e-MTBs you can buy, and the complete electrical system is certified to the UL 2849 safety standard for e-bikes.

Urrun means "far" in Basque, and range is the point. The 630 Wh battery on the Urrun 10 and 20 is rated for up to 135 km per charge, and the Urrun 30's 540 Wh battery for up to 114 km. Orbea's RS Gen 2 MC system, the same one developed for the Orbea Rise, reads your pedalling effort and matches it, so assist feels natural on singletrack and conserves battery on long gravel roads. Switch to RS+ mode when you need the full 85 Nm for a steep, technical climb or a heavy rack load.

Orbea's Trail Ready Geometry pairs a 66° head angle and longer reach with a sloping top tube, so the Urrun stays calm at speed and on loose descents, while the short, uninterrupted seat tube fits a long-travel dropper. Hydroformed, double- and triple-butted tubes build a little compliance into the frame for comfort on long days, and Orbea's SIC system routes the cables through the headset for a clean, rattle-free cockpit. Add the optional mudguards, rear rack, Lezyne lights and kickstand, and the same bike handles a commute, a grocery run or a bikepacking weekend.

Orbea Urrun 10: the trail specialist. The Urrun 10 brings the most capable parts in the range: a Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain with a 10-51t cassette, four-piston Shimano MT620 hydraulic brakes, a Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork, Race Face AR tubeless-ready wheels and 2.40" Schwalbe Wicked Will tires. It adds Shimano's EN600 colour display with a separate EN600-L remote, a dropper post and a Fizik saddle. Pick it if technical trails and steep descents are a regular part of your riding.

Orbea Urrun 20: the all-rounder. The Urrun 20 keeps the 630 Wh battery, Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork and dropper post of the Urrun 10, with a Shimano CUES 11-speed drivetrain (11-50t), Shimano MT420 hydraulic brakes and faster-rolling 2.35" Schwalbe Smart Sam tires. It's the sweet spot for riders who split their time between trails, gravel and pavement.

Orbea Urrun 30: the most accessible Urrun. The Urrun 30 uses the same frame, geometry and motor with a 540 Wh battery, an SR Suntour XCR32 coil fork with 120 mm of travel, a Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain (11-46t), Shimano MT201 hydraulic brakes and a rigid alloy seatpost. It suits newer trail riders and commuters who want a real mid-drive e-MTB with hydraulic brakes and room to grow.

Every Urrun can take Orbea's 210 Wh Range Extender in the bottle cage, raising the Urrun 10 and 20 to 840 Wh and up to 174 km per outing, and adding range to the Urrun 30 as well. The Urrun draws on the extender first, so you can leave it at home or drop it off mid-ride and carry on with the main battery. That combination of a branded mid-drive with up to 85 Nm, an integrated battery with a real range upgrade, a 19 kg hardtail chassis and a lifetime frame warranty is what separates the Urrun from heavier hub-motor e-MTBs that look similar on paper.

The Urrun 20 and 30 use the Shimano EN500, a compact display and assist switch in one small unit on the handlebar. It shows your assist level, estimated remaining range, trip distance and total odometer, and keeps the cockpit clean and uncluttered, with less to snag or break on the trail.

The battery is integrated into the downtube, fully enclosed and protected from mud, rain and road grime, and keeps the weight low and centred for stable handling on trails. Charge it by plugging Orbea's second-generation smart charger straight into the bike.
