The Tern HSD S9i is the flagship build of Tern's newly redesigned Gen 3 HSD, a compact electric cargo bike engineered to replace a second car for Canadian families and urban riders alike. Built around Bosch's latest Gen 5 Smart System, the S9i pairs a Performance Line PX mid drive motor with the premium 3x3 NINE internal gear hub and Bosch eShift, giving riders smooth, automatic feeling gear changes even at a dead stop. A shorter wheelbase than a standard longtail, combined with a low center of gravity, keeps the bike stable while hauling passengers or cargo, yet it still folds down in about 5 seconds for elevator rides, condo storage, or transit connections.
Every HSD S9i is third party tested and certified to UL 2849 for complete ebike electrical system safety and EN 17860 for frame and fork strength at a 190 kg gross vehicle weight rating, making it one of the most rigorously certified cargo ebikes sold in Canada.
