Tern Hardshell Hauler

It's a lockable, waterproof hard-shell cargo box that bolts onto Combo Mount-equipped Tern e-bikes via a dedicated support bracket. It creates a secure, enclosed front compartment for everyday cargo, so you don't need a crate, basket, or straps.

It's built for bikes equipped with Tern's Combo Mount system, which currently includes the GSD Gen 3 and HSD Gen 3 and Tern HSD, Tern  GSD, Tern NBD, Tern Quick Haul, Tern Short Haul, Tern Quick Haul Long.

The enclosed compartment holds 26 litres and is rated to carry up to 15 kg (33 lb). External strapping points let you secure bulkier items on the outside when you need more room than the main compartment offers.

Yes. The hard-shell design is built to keep rain, road spray, and general grime off whatever's inside, so it's a genuine step up from a fabric bag or open basket for anything you don't want getting wet on a commute.

No. The support bracket bolts to the bike's frame rather than the handlebars, so the bike keeps its natural, stable handling even when the Hauler is fully loaded. That frame-mounted design is the main reason Tern built a dedicated bracket instead of a handlebar-mount box.

The waterproof shell and aluminum bracket are built to handle rain, slush, and road salt spray, which makes it a solid match for Canadian commuting conditions. As with any bolted-on accessory, it's worth giving the mounting hardware an occasional check during heavy winter riding.

The built-in combination lock is designed for exactly that: quick stops at a shop, coffee run, or errand where you don't want to carry your bag in with you. It's a real deterrent for casual opportunists, though as with any bike accessory, it's not a substitute for keeping the bike itself locked in higher-risk areas.
