Why is there a UL safety standard for eBike systems?
▶ The battery, charger, drive unit and display make a complex electrical system. Therefore a standard has been developed to test for electrical and fire safety: UL 2849. This gives consumers the confidence that their product is safe.
▶ It is important that the entire eBike system is certified and not just the battery. When factoring safety in your purchasing decision ask for confirmation that the complete system is certified to UL 2849. A Certification logo for our complete eBike Systems can be found on our battery packs.
