Great tire, great customer service
"First off, purchasing these was another great customer experience with Scooteretti. I sent an email with a number of questions over the long Victoria Day weekend, and got a prompt and helpful reply early the next business day. I ended up ordering these tires on the holiday, and took the FedEx priority shipping because I am riding a lot now. One of my pet peeves is paying for priority shipping for an order that gets sent past one or more shipping cutoffs leading to extra delays. I am pleased to say that this was *not* the case with Scooteretti and the order shipped Tuesday and arrive in Montreal Wednesday morning (I know this may not always be possible, but in this case I had low expectations and was pleasantly surprised after a long weekend). So finally the tires, which were confirmed as a good choice by Dan at Scooteretti for my R&M Delite GT Touring (a dual suspension mountain bike): I was riding the studded Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro all winter and was surprised at how well the bigger tire matched the bike compared with the stock slicks. I didn't want to go back to the narrower slicks, as I plan to do mixed road and trail riding this year and I also feel like a bigger tire helps take the edge off the Montreal potholes. The Johnny Watts are phenomenal tires that have exceeded all expectations. I have not tried them on dirt, but on the road I found them considerably better than the stock slick tires. They are silent, track extremely well, and have a really nice progressive cornering feel. The extra diameter gives a slight boost to the bottom bracket clearance, which I appreciate as I like to pedal through corners. My R&M is a 2020 model - I don't know what stock tire R&M puts on the equivalent model these days, but in my view it should be the Johnny Watt. There is simply no downside and plenty of up. In my long-distant youth I raced track bikes, mountain bikes, and road/criterium. I've also ridden a variety of motorcycles. For me, the beauty of an e-bikes is freedom from the worries of weight and rolling resistance. The best I can describe it is the stability and robustness of a motorcycle combined with the freedom of a bicycle and feeling of momentum that comes from spinning a road or track bike while motorpacing. With a dual suspension e-mountain bike like the R&M Delite, the Schwalbe Johnny Watt really hits the sweet spot of this experience."
