The 2027 Riese & Müller Homage5 is a full-suspension step-through electric bike built for riders who want the performance of a top-tier touring e-bike without swinging a leg over a high top tube. It is the low-step sister of the Riese & Müller Delite5, sharing the same Bosch Performance Line CX motor, the same PowerTube 800 Wh battery and the same Fox suspension, so you give up nothing in capability to gain a frame you can simply step through. 120 Nm and 600% Support on Both Drivetrains for 2027
For 2027, both versions deliver up to 120 Nm of torque and up to 600% motor support, meaning the Bosch CX can multiply your own pedalling effort by as much as six times. The Homage5 Vario now runs Enviolo's new Utility hub, a stepless hub gear engineered to handle the full 120 Nm the Bosch CX motor produces, with a 400% gear range and no fixed steps to shift through: you simply twist to the cadence that feels right. The Homage5 Rohloff pairs the same Gates CDX carbon belt with the Rohloff E-14, an electronically shifted 14-speed Speedhub that gives you precise, button-press gear changes and the widest gear range in the lineup for steep climbs and long touring days. Both drivetrains are sealed inside the rear hub and run a belt instead of a chain, which means no chain lube, no grease on your pants and very little routine maintenance through Canadian slush, salt and rain.
A Step-Through Frame as Strong as the Delite5
A common question about step-through e-bikes is whether a low-step frame is as strong as a classic diamond frame. On the Homage5, Riese & Müller answers that with the numbers: it carries exactly the same ratings as the Delite5, with a 160 kg maximum permissible total weight, a 120 kg maximum rider weight and a 27 kg rear rack capacity. It uses the same 120 mm Fox 34 air fork and 110 mm Fox Float Rhythm rear shock, the same 62 mm Schwalbe Super Moto-X tires, and a frame built in Portugal from 30% recycled aluminium. It is also approved for child seats and two-wheel trailers. The step-through design changes how you get on the bike, not what the bike can carry or handle.
Comfort, Control and Visibility Built In
Comfort and control are built in rather than bolted on. The full-suspension chassis soaks up potholes, frost heaves and gravel paths, while the integrated dropper seatpost lets you lower the saddle at a stop so both feet reach the ground, then raise it again for efficient pedalling. Supernova M99 Mini Pro-25 front and TL3 Pro rear lights keep you visible through short Canadian winter afternoons, and the RX Chip connectivity module adds theft protection and bike tracking through the Bosch eBike Flow app.
