Recycle your Lead Acid Batteries at Scooteretti

December 1, 2015, no comments

To help reduce our environmental impact, Scooteretti has begun to offer recycling programs for a variety of lead acid batteries.

Lead acid batteries include but are not limited to: car batteries, golf cart batteries, boat batteries, mobility chairs and scooter batteries, industrial fork-lift batteries, and motorcycle and electric scooter batteries. These can be regular lead acid, sealed lead acid, and gel type batteries.

Do you have an old truck, car, scooter, boat, or motorcycle battery that you do not know what to do with? Bring it to Scooteretti, we are a proud City of Ottawa take it back partner.

Scooteretti will accept these batteries for reuse, recycling or proper disposal. Help Scooteretti keep lead acid batteries out of our landfills!   Sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries contain lead, acid and other chemicals and substances which are toxic and can create a hazard when disposed incorrectly.

THIS MATERIAL IS A PROHIBITED MATERIAL AND CANNOT BE DISPOSED OF IN THE REGULAR GARBAGE.

Did you know that a new lead-acid battery contains 60-80% recycled lead and plastic? The recycling cycle goes on indefinitely. That means the lead and plastic in the lead-acid battery in your car, truck, boat or motorcycle and electric scooter have been, and will continue to be recycled many times.   Recycling sealed lead acid batteries is also easier and much less energy intensive than producing new lead from oar and reduces dispersal of lead into the environment.

Do not throw your old electric scooter batteries in the trash. Drop off your used scooter batteries at Scooteretti Electric Bike & Electric Scooter Company in Ottawa anytime during shop hours for recycling.

No charge, no waits, just drop and go!
